Here is an opportunity to buy one of Minolta’s best and fastest standard primes. If you are upgrading your Maxxum gear, or looking for a great prime for a new Maxxum or Sony DSLR, look no further – this is the standard prime you will want for ultimate speed and sharpness. This particular lens (S/N 15400xx) is a gently used 1st generation vintage model, in minty condition. Not a mark on it optically and mechanically (aperture, focusing, lens mount etc.) it is perfect as well. You would be hard pressed to detect any cosmetic wear. The lens comes with both original lens caps (the nice ones!) and has a built-in hood. I’ll put a nice UV/Sky filter on it for you and you’ll also get the box, packaging and papers. It’s like getting a brand new high performance lens at a used price. If I didn’t have one already, I’d have this one!

This listing is for a 1st Generation Vintage fixed maximum aperture (f/4) version of this 70-210mm. (S/N 11101xx) Known endearingly as the “Beercan” due to its startling resemblance to a 16 oz. beverage container, this lens is attaining cult-like status amongst Maxxum DSLR enthusiasts as the telephoto to shoot with. This particular lens came out of my personal gear bag. This lens is easy to handle and travel with. I would classify the lens in this sale to be in mint minus condition cosmetically. This lens looks very nice with just a very small amount of light wear on the body enamel – a couple of tiny marks here and there, and you’ll need reflected light on close inspection to note them. Optically speaking, the glass has no scratches, blemishes or fungus. The internal elements look perfect, and under bright light I cant see a couple of very small few dust specks inside that most lenses have. Most of these big lenses do in fact have a few particulates, sometimes many! (If present, a few tiny particulates will not affect your image reproduction in any way.) I mention this only for the sake of an accurate description. The aperture blades are oil free and snappy. The zoom and focus rings move smoothly. The rubber grip appears unworn and very clean as you can see in the photos. The metal lens mount is unmarked.
